Newcastle Business School tops the tables!

Newcastle Business School part of Northumbria University has topped the 2008 National Student Survey in Accounting.

Newcastle Business School was one of only two institutions to score 100% for overall student satisfaction in the survey which targets final year undergraduates in England, Wales, Northern Ireland and participating Higher Education Institutions in Scotland.

Now in its fourth year, the National Student Survey allows students the opportunity to give feedback on their University experience which when compiled can help prospective students compare institutions and subjects.

Other subject areas within Newcastle Business School did extremely well with Business Studies receiving a satisfaction score of 87% and Marketing 85% - beating the national average of 82%.

These results of student satisfaction coupled with the new eco-friendly state of the art premises has helped Northumbria University climb 9 places in the Sunday Times Good University Guide 2008. The University is ranked 23rd (out of 120) for student satisfaction. The improving profile of the University is further demonstrated by the Head Teacher ranking, placing the University 26th which sees Northumbria rise 54 places from last year.

Professor Paul Croney, Dean of Newcastle Business School said “We are delighted with the outstanding results of our business and accounting programmes in this year’s national student survey. Our new world class facilities and commitment to giving our students an exceptional experience is certainly represented in these findings.”
